Ohio’s First Buc-ee’s Officially Opens in Huber Heights

Ohio’s first Buc-ee’s travel center officially opened in Huber Heights on April 6, 2026.

The 74,000-square-foot location at 8000 State Route 235, near the interchange of Interstate 70 and State Route 235, opened its doors at 6:00 a.m. and operates 24 hours a day.

Governor Mike DeWine attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon and welcomed the new store. In a post on X, he highlighted the famous Beaver Nuggets, clean restrooms, and extensive offerings, calling it a major addition for travelers and the local community.

The Huber Heights Buc-ee’s features more than 100 gas pumps, 24 electric vehicle charging stations, fresh-made kolaches, brisket, and the chain’s signature snacks. The store created more than 200 new jobs in the area.

Mayor Jeff Gore of Huber Heights declared April 6 as “Buc-ee’s Day” in the city and praised the Texas-based chain as its first location in Ohio. A second Buc-ee’s is already in early planning stages for the Mansfield area along Interstate 71.

Buc-ee’s is known nationwide for its large-format travel centers, exceptionally clean restrooms, and wide selection of food and merchandise. The opening drew large crowds, with lines forming well before the 6 a.m. opening.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony included Governor DeWine, First Lady Fran DeWine, Mayor Gore, and Buc-ee’s executives. Governor DeWine’s official X post and coverage from local officials celebrated the new attraction for the region.

This marks Buc-ee’s official expansion into the Midwest. The company has indicated plans to open additional locations in Ohio in the coming years.
