“AI Is Developing So Fast and We Need to Keep Up With It, and Also Be Very Vigilant,” Melania Trump Says — “It Is Really Incredible Where We Could Use It In — We Could Achieve So Much”

First Lady Melania Trump emphasized the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the importance of careful oversight in a recent interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, highlighting both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with emerging technologies. Trump discussed her involvement in launching initiatives that engage schools, students, and the public with AI, underscoring the role of education and vigilance in harnessing the technology effectively.

Trump detailed her work leading the “Fostering Future” initiative, which included hosting a virtual event with 2,000 schools via Zoom. She described AI as a transformative tool, capable of applications across health, fashion, and technology. “AI, he is developing so fast, and we need to keep up with it, and also be very vigilant because we cannot still — look at the machine believe everything, but it is really helpful what we can do, we could achieve so much, and it is really incredible where we could use it in health, fashion, technology, everywhere. And it is a great product. And it is great system that you could learn from,” she said.

Trump stressed the potential risks of AI, particularly in social media and misinformation. She noted that while the technology offers tremendous promise, users must exercise caution. “That is why I need to be vigilant carefully you can see in social media especially AI people will believe it, you need to check it,” she said, highlighting the need for verification and education to ensure responsible use.

Education and mentorship were central to Trump’s discussion. She called for more teachers trained in AI and technology, emphasizing the importance of guiding children as they navigate digital environments. According to Trump, understanding AI’s capabilities and limitations is critical to shaping responsible future generations. “We need to — educate people regarding equality and how positive it can be how negative it can be. Especially, children who are starting to use technology, and to be there for them. And guide them we need to be there, to be their teacher and to support them at what they are doing, showing them what isn’t right and what is wrong,” she said.

Trump also linked AI engagement to broader initiatives for youth empowerment. Through “Fostering Future,” she seeks to provide children and young adults with tools to become independent, navigate societal challenges, and prepare for future careers.

The First Lady framed her AI work as part of a larger strategy to equip young people for a technology-driven world while ensuring ethical and careful application. She highlighted her focus on teaching discernment and critical thinking alongside technical skills, reflecting a commitment to both innovation and social responsibility.

Trump’s remarks arrive as AI adoption accelerates globally, with governments, educators, and private industry grappling with both the opportunities and challenges the technology presents. By integrating educational initiatives with her broader advocacy for youth and families, she positions AI literacy and cautious adoption as central priorities for the coming years.

Her discussion of AI and education reflects a growing recognition of the technology’s potential to influence everyday life, from classroom learning to health and entrepreneurship. Trump’s efforts aim to ensure that emerging AI tools are deployed responsibly while preparing future generations to harness them productively.
